Some of the best B-Boys in the world are heading to Russia to take part the world’s most prestigious one-on-one B-Boy battle. On November 26, 16 dancers from 10 nations will take to the arena of the Old Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard in Moscow to decide who will be Red Bull BC One World Champion 2011.
THe event is already sold out, but the finals will be streamed live on www.redbullbcone.com.
This year, the line-up is made up of five B-Boys who came through qualifying heats in Brazil, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey and the USA, plus 10 B-Boys chosen by an international team of experts, and last year’s champion, Neguin, from Brazil.
From styler to power-mover, from old-schooler to newcomer, each dancer is a master of the art of breaking. The online buzz pre-tournament puts reigning champion Neguin (below) as favourite. If the Brazilian were to win, he’s be the first person to retain the BC One title. He certainly seems to have it all—power, style and attitude!

Another favourite for Moscow is Morris from the USA. Morris, who won the UK B-Boy Championship solo battle, made it to the Red Bull BC One semi-finals in 2009, where he lost to that year’s champion Lilou. Morris is a controversial character blowing minds with his crazy moves, energy and attitude.
Crowd favourite and Red Bull BC One All Star Hong 10 is also back for more. The Korean, champion in 2006, wants another run at the title. Recognised for his complex, clean, and intricate style, he can’t wait to show he’s still a force to be reckoned with.
The local hero is Flying Buddha, winner of the Red Bull BC One Qualifier in Istanbul. Having battled at the 2009 championship in New York, he’s taking his second shot at the title. While Flying Buddha is more attracted to power moves, he appreciates all of the elements of the art form including style, foundation, originality, rhythm, and stage presence.
The dancers will have to impress a panel of five judges: local legend Bootuz from Moscow – a competitor in Red Bull BC One 2006 and 2007, old-schooler Lamine from France, B-Boy Machine from the USA – who took part in BC One in 2005, three-time competitor and Red Bull BC One All Star Pelézinho (below) from Brazil, as well as the 2008 champ Wing from Korea.
Providing the music for this legendary event will be British DJ Renegade who provides the beats at B-Boy events all over the planet.
Fans from Russia and around the world bought up the tickets within a couple of hours. But for the whole world to watch, the event will be streamed live on www.redbullbcone.com.
