Cheatahs Cheatahs by Alice Peperell for Red Bull Studios

Witchita Recordings signing Cheatahs will perform two tracks for the second episode of Launched this evening. Screening straight after Willy Moon at 00:30 (GMT), the quartet chat to Annie Mac about how the band moved from lead singer Nathan Hewitt’s bedroom to a Hackney studio and working with Witchita.

Cheatahs DNA is about as international as it gets; with Nathan hailing from a small town called Morinville near Edmonton, Canada; guitarist James Wignall from Leicester; bassist Dean Reid from America and drummer Marc Raue raised in Germany. Together they create melodic garage rock with a hint of shoegaze that is a culmination of their years spent in bands. Collectively they share a mutual passion for bands like Dinosaur Jr, My Bloody Valentine, Neil Young, Nirvana and musician Mark Kozalek. With two EPs under their belt, 'Cored' and 'Sans', the latter has cemented them as ones to watch for 2013 and seen the foursome share the stage with Friendly Fires, The Cribs, who are big fans, Ariel Pink, King Tuff and Best Coast.

Cheatahs will be performing at 00:30 (GMT) for Launched on C4
