The winning bands in Red Bull Bedroom Jam 2010 are currently performing live across the UK at some of the top festivals of the summer. We interrupted Heights mid-tour to find out more about them.

The Welwyn Garden City quintet rose to rave notices for their debut EP The Land The Ocean The Distance. They even have Bugs Bunny on guitar (possibly not his real name). They’ve been making themselves hoarse up and down the country for a few years now, and on the strength of their following, look set to explode in the future.

Hello there! Introduce yourselves to the redbull.co.uk viewers
Hi! We are Heights. We are from Welwyn Garden City, just north of London, and we play hardcore and metal with an ambient twist.

What inspired you to take part in Red Bull Bedroom Jam?
A chance to play these awesome festivals! It’s such a great opportunity for bands like us, we already had a camera so we figured we had nothing to lose by filming a video and trying our luck.

How’s it been going on the festival circuit?
Well, we aren’t even half way through yet but it’s been amazing! It’s been so great to play in front of so many people, alongside so many of our favourite bands. And seeing these famous people just chilling out backstage has been very surreal.

Are there any other bands in the Jam you like?
All of them! But in particular Hearts Under Fire and This Is Divine

What’s next?
Shows, shows and more shows! We have a really busy schedule for the rest of the year so we are very excited. We are going on tour for a month all across UK and Europe in November as well as loads of other shows around the place. We are also going into the studio in early August to record two new songs.
