The winning bands in Red Bull Bedroom Jam 2010 are currently performing live across the UK at some of the top festivals of the summer. We interrupted You And What Army mid-tour to find out more about them.
They sound a bit like the musical soundtrack to the last few minutes of the universe. Every planet’s life forms screaming in unison as all of time literally ends. Sure it would be a bit of a rum affair, but we’ll all go screaming and on fire – amazing.
They hail from the West Midlands and they have a name. That name is You And What Army, although individually you can refer to them as Zak, Dave, Kieran and Jamie.

Good day guys and gals, we're You And What Army and we're the most epic band you’re going to witness in our generation!
What inspired you to take part in Red Bull Bedroom Jam?
Zak brought a copy of Rocksound and saw the advert on the back and when he looked into it he uploaded the band. Now we're playing the festival with you! When we noticed that My Passion did this last year, we thought it was a good way to go as this time last year they were supporting us.
How's it been going on the festival circuit?
It's been frikin awesome!! Not only have we played a gig to a few hundred people in a massive tent from all over the UK but we've experienced what life could be like from now on and we want it to stay like this. To be able to focus solely on the music and go from our day to day lives gigging, touring, writing, promo, filming, meeting new people etc. It's our purpose on this planet!
Are there any other bands in the Jam you like?
We get on well with the lads from Sacred Betrayal, we were in contact with each other before the comp started. We've only had chance to catch Heights, Hearts Under Fire and No Mean City really and think they're all doing their own thing and doing it very well.
What's next?
Well we're planning on doing what we do best – book gigs, setup our own tours, create awesome and different music and get our asses out there! We're not voted and keep within the top three of the best live unsigned bands in Rocksound Magazine for nothing!
