Beautiful Crime Beautiful Crime

This Thursday, September 16, at the Red Bull Studios in London, Beautiful Crime will be pre-releasing Fin DAC's highly anticipated screen print 'Hendrix: Still Reigning, Still Dreaming' to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix's death.

Urban artist Fin DAC's 16-colour, hand finished print will be on display at Red Bull Studios in Tooley Street, SE1 in a one-night pop-up exhibition and event, which takes place from 6.30pm until 10pm and which features an auction of the artist's work.

Fin DAC’s striking image of Hendrix possesses a bold and edgy quality, yet also offers a harmonising ambience, illuminated by the kaleidoscopic protrusion of colour.

Seventy hand finished limited edition prints and nine ‘special edition’ prints with extra hand finishing and layers will be available on the night, before their official release on the Beautiful Crime website on September 18.

There will also be four unique original 1/1 pieces, on wood, copper, metal and a newspaper collage canvas. These will cost £1,970, indicative of the year Hendrix died. The metal edition will be completed live on the night by Fin DAC himself.

The number of prints and their prices are all subtly linked to Hendrix. As he died in 1970, Beautiful Crime will be producing 70 limited edition hand-finished prints by Fin DAC and as it was in the ninth month, there will be nine special edition prints.

Reflective of the day and month that Hendrix passed, the seventy prints will be sold on the Beautiful Crime website for £189.

The four main artworks by Fin DAC, will take centre-stage at the exhibition along with the Hendrix screen print. The event will also see Stuee, from The Paddingtons, behind the decks, spinning his recently recorded tracks.

There will undoubtedly be an electric atmosphere to honour the 40th anniversary of the death of one the greatest rock and roll legends the music industry has ever known.
