Highlights of 2009 - X Fighters hit London

Continuing our look back at the most memorable events, achievements and jaw-dropping feats of 2009, the finale of the X Fighters at Battersea Power Station in London definitely ranks high-up on our list of standout moments of the year.

On August 22, 2009 the dramatic setting of south London's Battersea Power Station was transformed to play host to the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour finale. Twelve of the world’s best Freestyle Motocross (FMX) riders descended upon the capital to thrill a 17,000-strong crowd as they performed gravity-defying tricks to battle it out for the world title in front of the famous white chimneys.

Not only was it the first time Red Bull X-Fighters touched down in the UK, it was also the first time that both the inside and outside of Battersea Power Station was used as part of the set to entertain the general public.
