We're here to wander around the net and round up what's out there so you don't have to. We're nice like that.
PLAN B, or to give him the name his mum probably calls him, Ben Drew, has been gradually broadening his range since releasing his debut album Who Needs Actions When You Got Words in 2006. He's been making forays into film with roles in the acclaimed Kidulthood and Adulthood before sparring with Michael Caine in Harry Brown last year. He's now back with a new album The Defamation Of Strickland Banks, which is out in March, and is also heading out on tour. JOANNA NEWSOM, whose last album Ys in 2006 featured only five tracks that went on a bit but still ended up as one of the top rated releases of the year, has announced details of a follow-up. The triple album, due out on February 23, is called Have One On Me, and a taster of it, entitled ’81, is available at www.dragcity.com
AC/DC are to release a sort of greatest hits album as the soundtrack to the upcoming Iron Man 2 movie. The band have previously spurned such things as compilations, so this is the nearest they have to a hits round-up. Tracks will include Shoot to Thrill, Back in Black, and Highway To Hell. The album is scheduled to come out ahead of the film in April. The band have also announced that they are to headline the Download festival in the UK in June. Find out more at www.acdc.com
