There was another day of mixed results for the Athertons at Round 4 of the UCI World Cup Series in Mount St Anne, Canada at the weekend.
It was Gee Atherton again who suffered the bad luck when he sliced his tyre on the upper section of the demanding Mt St Anne track. His upper section was going well until this point and despite him not reaching interval one it was obvious his time was going to be a flyer.
Despite this non-scoring round for Gee, he still sits in third in the overall series standings (Greg Minnaar finished 18th) and if he can pull back points at the next few rounds, he still stands a great chance of retaining his World Cup crown.

Dan Atherton continued his return from injury with a solid 45th placing and expect to see him slowly step up that leader board towards the end of the season.
With a lot of time to make up from qualifying in third spot Rachel went out all guns blazing and was riding super strong on her run, until a couple of major off line moments cost her a bit of time, but she still managed to replicate qualifying with a third place in the finals.
Tracey Moseley took the win ahead of Floraine Pughin, with the overall series taking the same shape, leaving Rachel in third spot, 330 points back with work to do in the remaining three rounds.
The team now moves onto the USA for Round 5 and a return to the venue of Windham where the team claimed a double win in 2010 – expect the team to be doing all they can to replicate that next weekend.
