England paceman, Stuart Broad, took the last two wickets to earn his side an incredible victory against Sri Lanka in the First Test in Cardiff on Monday.
The hosts began the final day's play of a rain-affected match at 3pm still halfway through their first innings and were rated as 1000-1 outsiders by the bookies to win in front of a handful of die hard cricket fans at Sophia Gardens.
With the match written off by most as a certain draw, England captain, Andrew Strauss, was widely expected to give the likes of Eoin Morgan some time in the middle, but he sprang a surprise by declaring the moment that batsman, Ian Bell, had passed 100.
England had a lead of just 96 and were without key strike bowler, James Anderson, who was forced out of the match with a side strain, so it looked highly unlikely that the match could be won with just 50 overs remaining.
Strauss's men had other ideas though and a hostile opening spell of bowling from Broad and Chris Tremlett resulted in two early wickets for the hosts.
The experienced Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayewardene appeared to have steadied the Sri Lankan ship, but off-spinner Graeme Swann and Tremlett ripped out the middle order before Broad wrapped things up with the wickets of Perera and Lakmal to record what Broad described on Twitter as: "the most unbelievable Test win I've played in".
And skipper, Strauss, added: "We were not expecting this at the start of the day, it beggars belief to a certain extent."
Sri Lanka's second innings score of just 82 all out was their joint fourth lowest total in the country's history and is a major blow to the tourists ahead of the Second Test at Lord's, which begins this Friday.
