As the year draws to a close Red Bull Studios are teaming up with electronic glitch pop duo AlunaGeorge to put on an end of year party at The Nest, Dalston. This is the last live set of 2011 for Aluna Francis (vocals) and George Reid (beats) who have been hypnotising the online community with the garage tinged We Are Chosen, described by The Sunday Times as: “One of the best singles of the summer,” and more recently with their single You Know You Like It (Super Recordings).
Providing support on the night is Red Bull Music Academy graduate and Club Cheval founder Canblaster, promising one of his heavy weight sets combining the best in French electro, Juke and UK bass music. Canblaster will pass the baton to fellow Club Cheval DJ Sam Tiba and Ed Banger crew member Riton will also be taking to the decks to play a party set – expect anything from Krautrock to super charged house and techno joints.
Following on from his cracking Bass Ballad remix of AlunaGeorge’s debut single Lapalux will be playing a DJ set. Listen to Lapalux’s Mix Monday recorded exclusively for Red Bull Studios. Last but not least, Ninja Tune signing and Super Recordings C.E.O one Benjamin Stefanski (Raffertie) will put the crowd through it’s paces with a bespoke experimental DJ set drawing tunes from his imprint and back catalogue. Not a sniff of tinsel anywhere on the dancefloor, just good vibes and some of the freshest performers set for for big things in 2012.
