Subsim: Curating Spaces

Manchester is playing host to the internationally acclaimed art collective, Subism, between 15th and 19th August.

Four of Subism's artists will be creating a themed piece of art on one of the most prominent walls in Manchester's Northern Quarter and the collective has been given permission to paint a 'four-element' themed piece on the side of local business, Ridelow's building.

This earth, wind, fire and water illustration will be drawn by artists Deus, N4t4, Philth and Ventsa.

The founder of Subism, Stuart Boyd has always dreamt of creating a piece of art on a wall of this size in Manchester.

He says, 'Manchester is a special city, music and culture has played a big part. To have the opportunity to be part of that and to create something on this scale is fantastic. The Northern Quarter is the perfect place for this to happen and with the support of Red Bull it has been possible to make years of planning come to life, not just for Subism or the artists, but for everyone who sees it to enjoy. Red Bull gave us wings... and cherry pickers.'

Subism is a multi-faceted independent creative business representing the Subism Art Collective, a collective of artists from around the glboe. They offer commissions and murals as well as unique illustration services at www.subismcreate.com

The company has always created art that draws worldwide attention.

Stuart and his artists also work on community projects, such as this new piece for the people of Mancester and this newest mural will definitely be worth a visit.

The work will be taking place at Ridelow Bike Shop, Church Street, Northern Quarter, Manchester between 15th and 19th August with the artists on hand between 10am and 8pm.
