Copyright is a Bristol based artist who has been painting both on the streets and for gallery shows for over 10 years. His trademark pink roses have sprung up as far as Tokyo and he has had a number of sold out solo shows around the world – most recently his London solo show at the end of 2010. He has also been featured in publications such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Modart and most recently was asked to create a piece for the cover of Reload Magazine. Copyright said: “I have always painted on cardboard, its more fun to do in contrast to painting on canvas because you don’t need to be so precious, you can afford to be more free, if you mess it up you can just throw it away. That’s why I like it, it’s something that everyone normally just throws away, but taken a while to paint something beautiful on and it becomes something that will be framed, hung and treasured. Its crazy really treasuring something that’s so disposable, it kind of flips your perception of what to keep and love and what to throw away.”
Numskull works out of Sydney, Australia and as a painter/illustrator has spent most of his life in and out of the graffiti and skateboarding scene. Specialising in typography, he has staged numerous exhibitions in his native Australia showing his unique style of lettering for which he received a great deal of critical acclaim. Numskull said: “I’m psyched to be on board for this exhibition and I’m looking forward to working more within the UK in 2011.”
