About Jamie
Despite being only 16-years-old Jamie has already been snowboarding for seven years and is the youngest of the Red Bull athletes. Many instructors are reluctant to teach children under the age of 12, so to get past this Jamie had boots two sizes too big for him and wore extra thick socks when he first started out! Despite being a high class snowboarder at such a young age, Jamie still didn’t realise how talented he was until he started competing. His first competition was in Scotland in 2002 and he has since gone on to claim many titles. In 2005 he won four gold medals at the Orange British championships in Laax and more recently Jamie won the overall men’s category at the 2009 British freeski and snowboard championships. Jamie’s plan for the forthcoming season is to focus on more international competitions, specifically the TTR and he hopes to secure his own section in an international snowboard film.
