About Julius
2009 was a stellar year for Julius Brink, which saw him crowned world champion with his new partner Jonas Reckermann at the Beach Volleyball World Championships in Stavanger, Norway.
Brink – who also won worlds bronze in 2005 – and Reckermann overhauled the top seeds from Brazil to become the first European pair to win gold at the Worlds.
He’s no stranger to success, having claimed European glory in 2006 with Christoph Dieckmann – who he partnered for 42 events.
Brink’s partnership with Reckermann, however, has proved his most successful to date with the pair accumulating $113,850 prize money in their first eight world tour events.
Now, having established himself as one half of one of the most successful beach volleyball partnerships on the planet, Brink will surely have his eyes on Olympic success after a disappointing 19th place finish in Beijing.
