Oli has been on the rise in the European Tour rankings since turning professional in 2005 and in 2008 he was catapulted into the limelight when he was drafted into the European Ryder Cup Team - the first player to make it onto the squad without a Tour win to his name. Wilson certainly made the most of his Ryder Cup debut - memorably fighting back from four down with Henrik Stenson to defeat Phil Mickelson and Anthony Kim to claim a priceless 2 and 1 win. Oli finished second at the HSBC Champions tournament in China, as well as scoring joint fifth at the World Golf Champships’ CA tournament at Doral in Florida. He finished the 2009 season in seventh place in the European Tour Race to Dubai, pocketing over two million euros in prize money in the process.
