About Alexis
Alexis 'Lexi' Thompson was born in 1995 in the USA. She began her fledgling career with a win aged just seven, and achieved her first hole-in-one at the same age.
In 2007, Alexis became the youngest ever qualifier for the US Women's Open. She also qualified in 2008, and again in 2009 where she made the cut for the first time.
Having won the 2010 Curtis Cup – the ladies amateur team championship played against Great Britain & Ireland – with the USA, Alexis turned pro in June 2010, just in time for her first Major, the US Women's Open at Oakmont, California.
Away from the golf course, as well as continuing her school studies at Westchester in Coral Springs, Florida, Alexis enjoys dancing, among other hobbies.
She also enjoys the odd round of golf at home with her two brothers, Nicholas and Curtis, who are both notable golfers on the men's scene.
