    In December 1999, Austrian BASE jumper Felix Baumgartner, now heavily involved in the Red Bull Stratos project to freefall from the edge of space, performed a record-breaking jump off the right arm of the 'Cristo Redentor' (Christ the Redeemer) statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
