Recent addition to the Red Bull family, 15 year old British racer Scott Redding, wrote history at the thrilling 125cc GP race in Donington, UK.
With his win in the 125cc British Grand Prix on Sunday, Redding put himself into the record books, by becoming the youngest race winner in Grand Prix history and being the first ever British race winner in Donington Park. He also ends Britain’s curse of not having a winner in the 125cc class for over 451 race runs.
Starting from the front row of the grid on Sunday, he soon was able to close down to early leader Andrea Iannone, racing with him in a league of its own, far ahead of the rest of the crowd. Breathing down Iannone’s neck, the leader wasn’t able to cope with Redding’s pressure and made a fatal mistake six rounds before finish. Iannone took a heavy lowside, which made it easy for Scott to overtake and ensuring him this historic win.
With his heroic and brilliant winning ride, Redding proves to be one of the most promising young talents in the GP circus.
Redding climbs onto the 9th position in the championship, promising some further thrilling races for the rest of the season.
